Florida based artist, Shannon Upton, gets her inspiration by walking the sugar-white sand beaches with emerald-hued waters along a 100 mile stretch of the Gulf known as the “Emerald Coast”.  What makes the water turquoise green and crystal clear on the Emerald Coast?

The luminescent glow is a combination of the clarity of the water and the sun’s reflection on the bright sandy bottom.  It is almost iridescent since the range of color can change from peridot to emerald to a bluish aquamarine depending upon conditions.  The location of the sun in the sky and seasons also change the hues due to the amount of light….and the reason the clear water glitters like a treasured assortment of green jewels in many of her photographs and prints. 

She has photographed various sea life on her walks to include--dolphins, sea turtles, jelly fish, manta rays, sharks, herons, sand pipers, and numerous species of fish.  What first started as capturing amazing coastal beach pictures and sharing with family & friends has now evolved into a Fine Art Collection of Images, Prints, and Paintings.  They are available in a variety of mediums & sizes and are printed using only the most advanced printing methods available today.  All the fine art pieces are meant to last a lifetime and beyond.

Calming blue colors and coastal art has been known to create a relaxing atmosphere and mood that is perfect for the home or office.  The long, horizontal paintings work well where original art is desired for the master bedroom, guest room, kitchen, or office.  For this reason, she frequently sells art to Interior Designers and owners of coastal homes and beach condos.
